GameFob Goes To Comikaze Expo 2011

This past weekend, I attended Comikaze Expo as a member of the press and I invaded the show, representing! Comikaze Expo was such an outstanding show and I already can’t wait for next year! If you’re wondering, there were no Japanese airmen hurt in this convention. Now nothing can ever replace Comic-Con International in San Diego, but Comikaze Expo sure did impress in only it’s first year.

The show was headlined by the great Stan Lee and the timeless beauty, Elvira aka Casandra Peterson and Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. Pretty impressive for your first event, LA. Comikaze also brought us classics form Star Trek, The Nickelodeon All That reunion, and much much more. We were even graced with the great Mark Hamill’s presence!

Check out my snap short of Stan Lee below:

The Los Angeles Comikaze Expo had an amazing turn out for it’s debut. The city of LA isn’t really known to be associated with comic conventions, but nonetheless, I think it’s safe to assume that this event is here to stay. Upon arriving to the LA Convention Center, there were lines leading all the way to entrance. With the center right next to Staples Center on Figueroa St., the event is conveniently located next to a metro station where most of the LA area can flock to this awesome show.

While roaming the show floor, I ran into the hilarious Dan Fogler:

And the beautiful Carla Harvey of the Butcher Babies:

Here are the books that caught my eye: Holli Hoxxx by Austin Tinius, Reed Gunther by Shane & Chris Houghton, Butcher Babies by Carla Harvey, The 36 by Kristopher White, Jailing Fortune by Eric Carter Moon Lake by Dan Fogler and finally, Romeo & Juliet by Stan Lee and Terry Dougas.

Oh! What would a comic-con wouldn’t be one without cosplay?! Like most cons, cosplayers flock to these events showcasing their costumes in what can be debated as art. I’m a big fan of cosplay and there were some costumes that I was completely geeking out over. Professional cosplayers Yaya Han and Jessica Nigri were in attendance and did not disappoint. On behalf of the entire GameFob crew, I’d like to thank the Comikaze Expo for being the first event to accredit us with press/media pass. It was an honor to attend and cover the Comikaze Expo. We are very thankful to the people at Comikaze Expo especially, to Miss. Chaton Anderson who helped us get everything settled.

I would also  like to thank the cosplayers who dressed up this past weekend. You all did such a wonderful job with your costumes. No matter if you were too hot or too cold by the environment, you were appreciated!

Thank you, Comikaze Expo. Until next year!
