Fate of the Furious Inches Closer to the 2017 Box Office Crown
What started with Beauty and the Beast’s release last month could potentially turn in to a billion-dollar earning film released every month in 2017 through the end of summer. For April, that film has quickly become Fate of the Furious after two weekends as it tops $900 million worldwide gross. Next month, it’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. In June, it’s Wonder Woman. This year could turn out to be a box office junkie’s sweetest dream.
According to Box Office Mojo, Fate of the Furious and its monster record-breaking opening weekend slowed down a bit. The box office tracking website has Fate falling behind the 10-day total of Fast & Furious 6, which means the film has pumped the brakes a little too quickly. Beauty and the Beast, on the other hand, managed to make push itself passed the $1.1 billion mark showing that the film has had some really nice legs since its March 17th release. Please forgive the Gaston-esque remark.

Pete Taase once was a Sith Lord, but was brought back from the depths of dark side by his younglings and old VHS cassettes that require the tracking button to make the screen clearer to view.
